Gentlemen,
I've got a question for the community, I've got a No1 in .243 winy and I'm not sure of whether it's an adjustable trigger or not. I'm aware the newer ones are not adjustable. However, my rifle was Manufactured in 77 or early 78.
If anyone has a picture of an adjustable trigger in the rifle with the buttstock off, I'd appreciate it. Also, I'm told Ruger had instructions for the adjustments in the early manuals.

Look at your trigger and see if it has a pair of screw holes in the face up near the top, it should be adjustable.

My No.1V did not have the adjustable trigger feature, so I went with a Canjar single set trigger and cured the issue completely.

Hard to find now, but well worth the effort if/when one is found. It gives these neat rifles an entirely new personality.



In the field, it's like shooting one of my rifles with a Jewell.

Ruger No. 1 triggers. There was also an aftermarket trigger made that them very nice. It was called a Keplinger or something like that. A friend has several of them in his custom No.1's.

Yup, I remember those. They were reported to be the very best of the lot, expensive, but the epitome of design and overall quality.

If memory serves (trouble), they offered both single set and double triggers for the No.1.

I have a couple of the Kepplinger single set triggers on Ruger #1 rifles chambered in 6.5x55 Swede and 375 H&H Magnum. They are excellent triggers, but they have been hard to find for quite a few years.

i have moyer triggers in mine set for 2.25# and crisp. not sure they are still in business.

I had a Kepplinger trigger in a #1V in 22PPC. Very nice trigger but the rifles accuracy sucked. Had a Jard trigger put in a #1 218 Bee. Not as nice as the kepplinger, but far better than the factory trigger.
