Why would Remington buy Dakota just to turn it into another Remington factory? Presumably Remington sees Dakota as a good investment and it will remain a custom shop.

Anyhow, I don't see many Dakotas on this site.


Look on the bright side: if the assets of Small Caliber News haven't been sold yet, maybe we can convince Remington to bring it back with Todd Kindler as executive editor.

Reportedly, one of the principals at Cerberus, the private equity firm that owns Remington, and Bushmaster, Cobb, Lewis Tool, and a few others (DPMS?), is a gun nut. Must be nice. I saw a press release a couple of days ago that said the federal tax collections from new weapon and ammo sales are up some 30-40 percent from a year ago. Maybe he is just recognizing a good growth industry opportunity........
