Default O T fishing on birthday

Hi Guys hope you don't mind but i had to share this
Yesterday 8th march was my birthday the big 50 [ i am now officially a old fart]. So i could have gone hunting but the weather was nice and the sea was flat so i went fishing in my boat instead.I took along Matt a young mate of mine who hasn't had much luck fishing on my boat and this is what he caught
35kg Yellowtail Kingfish one of the toughest fish to land down our way and this is just about as big as they get!!! A fish of a lifetime ,needless to say Matt was blown away as well as totally exhausted after a 20 minute fight.
thanks for reading Ivan

size in Fla come July.

Happy Birthday!

You're only an old fart if you admit to it. Personally, I wallow in it.

Nice fish.

Happy Birthday. Nice to go fishing this time of year. Around here you would have to drill a hole.

Smile Kid, you are certainly getting older...

... but until 30 you're "young,", til 60 you're "middle aged" and only after that are you "old," and then only if you want to admit it. I was young until I hit 70, 5 years ago. Completely skipped "middle aged", but the old adage, "getting old is not for sissies" is absolutely true.

Congratulations, especially for being along on such a memoriable fishing trip.

Enjoy your "youth", kid! Many happy returns.

Alex

Dean Icefishing that's wrong!! i can't even imagine doing that, where i come from water stays liquid even in winter except up in the mountains.
To Chris you should come over lots of great fishing and hunting in NZ where abouts do'se your Cousin live?
I was talking to Matt this morning he is still buzzing said he couldn't sleep the night after he caught that fish too excited He told me this was his first legal sized kingfish[over 75cm] his fish was 163cm long and 98cm around the gut!Well and truly over the size limit,Kingfish virgin no more!!Here is another photo Thanks for reading Ivan
