Default I STOPPED buying BERGER stuff

I've made a promise to myself to STOP purchasing BERGER stuff
They "had" an opportunity to provide their customers with a niche product.
There is no excuse for their decision other then profits and costs.
Leaving the consumer high & dry isn't customer service.

Discontinuing the 17Cal 25gr TARGET bullet was an ugly decision.
Then they discontinued the 20Cal x 50 gr., low blow
Now, they discontinued the 20Cal. x 55gr., extra low blow

I've e-mailed their sales department...noted my disappointment and decision to STOP buying their products

Al, I feel your pain but if they aren't making any money on the small volumes of those bullets, I wouldn't expect any other company to keep making them either.

Default Berger disc 17 cal

I also miss the Berger 17cal 20gr varmint bullet and the 17cal 30gr varmint bullets. They have really $hit on us ultra small cal guys. I was luck enough to purchase 3800 of the 20cal 50gr bullets which should outlast my 8.5tw PAC-NOR barrel on my 20 PPC. ENOUGH SAID

Sad, but I never found the need to shoot bullets that cost over .30 per shot in small calibers. Never have ever shot a Burger..........I prefer to eat them

Hornady also just discontinued the 17 caliber 25 gr hollow point that has been a staple for a lot of 17 caliber shooters for years.

I was happy to see them move away from PRK but the new owners do seem to be more interested in making money than in making bullets. Their new location should in theory precipitate lower prices. Perhaps the price of materials has gone way up?

Some products from other manufacturers seem to key off of berger's prices. It seems like they take the berger price and sell for some fraction of that, so when berger prices go up so do the competitors.

I'm with ya Al. I sent a note to them as well letting them know of my disappointment on this and the other decisions. I built my 20 Extreme for the 55 grain Bergers'. I have about 500 in the cupboard that I may sell to a buddy that wants them. I told Berger that if I have to go looking for another bullet to shoot it won't be a Berger cause I don't want to work at developing a load only to have them discontinue that bullet next year. I do have quite a few 40 grain to use for now too but not happy
