we've sold ton of rifles at the shop, Ruger, Savage, CZ. Only the CZ's come with test targets and I don't get a lot of feedback from customers about other brands after they leave the shop (even if I did I probably wouldn't believe them ). But from looking at literally dozens of CZ test targets, hands down, the CZ in the Varmint configuration.

CZ 527

But I am prejudice.
All my rifles are CZ 527 with one exception. A SS Winchester 22. Kenny

Default 17h

I'd guess a Cooper, but big $$$
I had a 17AH in a cooper. It was very accurate.

I'm not sure how Cooper is categorized, I'd consider it at least a semi custom and I'm sure spectacularly accurate.

I know the Rugers can be quite accurate, but many modify the bolt and tigger to get them there. Sometime the mods don't do enough.

Unmodified, the CZs just shoot. Mine (527 varmint) shot 0.5" and under for 3 and 5 shot groups with factory ammo within the first 15 rounds down range.

Default Cz 17hh

CZ 527....You could spend more $s, but I don't think you would get any more accuracy than the factory version of the American or the Varmint CZ 17HH!
I to speak with a proud prejudice of the CZs-owned dozens and not one has ever let me down....

Default CZ

I would opt for CZ also. Personally I do not like the bolt, trigger, safety or magazine set up on them but they shoot!

Just how accurate does it have to be though? The caliber is really only effective out to 300. If it shoots even moa your not going to miss very often.

Thumbs down Hornet

My Ruger 17 Hornet is shooting pretty good with factory and handloads. And I haven't touched the rifle no bedding no trigger job nothing! I can't shoot those CZs I'm sorry they are just damn ugly!

I have to agree, that magazine hanging down is ugly.

I don't have a mag like that on any of mine,

My 204 has a three round mag and no magazines in the others.

You would think, sometime they would go with the three round mags

in all their rifles.

With a little work they have a wonderful trigger for any factory rifle.

They are easy to work on if so inclined. Kenny
