This is something I can’t account for, but in my twenties and thirties I would not use scopes fine cross hairs and 1/8 minute or 1/4 minute dot because I lost them in the basalt when shooting rock chucks. Today I love them and my 62 year old eyes are no where near as good as they were back then.

I’m shootings the very same talus slopes I shot 40 years ago. Go figure!

JD: Way back when, I also did not like those fine crosshairs and dots, now I love this scope with them. And I sure am a lot older than way back when.
Funny how we change our point of views sometimes. This one is one of my favorites for those rock chuck areas also.
