Default Burris rings.

Can anyone tell me what the thread size is for the screws that clamp Burris Signature Zee rings to the Picatinny rail?
Thanks, Ken.

I can't help you with the size but if you are missing one Burris will send you a replacement. I lost one a couple of years ago and they sent me a replacement free of charge.

6x48 and 8x40 are the most common standard sizes, at least on North American guns. That said, the screw size is determined by the gun maker and Burris would have put in the right screws for that application. You need to know what gun to know what thread, or take one out and take it to a bolt shop to measure the thread. Some European guns use metric threads.

Edit I see I misread the question a little, the screw that holds the ring to the rail is what you are looking for. Those should be 6x40. The slots on most rails, like Weaver, are too small for 8x40.

I don’t have the answer but I believe the screw he is referencing threads into the other side of the mount. Rings attach to the rail by clamping the mount onto the rail only.

Unless I am missing something…

I replaced the slot head screws for years, correct screw size is 6-40 X 1 inch. Hope this what you are looking for. As you probably know already Burris went to a TORX head screw several years ago so that would be the best solution if you can get some from them.

Hi,
Yes, 6-40 x 1inch was what I was looking for.
Being in the UK I’ve emailed the store where I bought the rings, 3 days now and no reply.
Can’t expect Burris to mail one screw from there to here.
Thanks for all replies.
Cheers,Ken.

Retailer here has put 2 free issue screws in the post.
Can’t do better than that.
Ken.
