Default Question for the Brain Trust

Just created a new workspace in the house (put in an instant water heater).
From the door to the back wall is 42", 30" between the walls. Water pipes stick out from the back wall a bit. Have a Dillon 750 and PW 800 which will switch out.
Anyone made a set up to change out presses? Uncertain if slide in/out is preferable to bolt/clamp on.

Left wall is free and clear; heater and alarm panel are on the right wall.

Set up the bench so my back is to the door? Height of the bench so I can stand or sit on a stool as I feel?
Bench top and shelves will be removable for heater maintenance.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Don't know if you can use the same set up I have.

used a 2 foot square 1/2" steel plate and drilled & tapped
holes for four presses on two sides.
'
I'm using an old office desk in the house and didn't want to
ruin the desk top, or get rid of the desk.

shop is too damned cold in winter and too many other things.
Lathe, welding equipment, torch, table saw etc.

Not practical to have powder where sparks or fire is used a lot.

In the last months, I put in an on-demand water heater. One of the things I would like is instant hot water, but adding a system for that lowers your economy. Are you noticing an economy hit?

Products that I am looking for but can't seem to find no matter how hard I look:
Leopold Scopes, Forester reloading equipment and Victorianox knives.

I video recorded all of my Highpower Rifle matches. Pretty soon I am going to watch them all in reverse order so that I can watch those F Class guys GO HOME and leave us alone so that we can shoot Highpower Rifle.

Same problem George. This is indoors, nice and cozy. Can you access each station w/o moving the plate or do you shift it to use a particular press?

If you are talking electric on demand those things will black out your local nuclear plant. My old gas Bosch Aquastar had a pilot light and during summer I couldn't see a difference in my bill and I take a relaxing shower. Maybe three dollars a month?

No,
We have a gas unit. We just didn't get the instant hot water function. We did not know such a thing existed before installation. Arrival of hot water now takes somewhat longer than with our old tank.

B-Creek, have you looked at Inline Fabrication plates. All my using presses are on adapters that pop in and out quickly. I routed the base plate into the bench top so when there's no press set up the top is flat. They are heavy made steel.

I sized my bench for sitting only, but I suppose it would work ok standing, but there is about less than a zero chance I would load standing up. I have a Forster Co-Ax mounted on an aluminum plate which I made. It has holes for a bunch of things pre-drilled. I have a second reloading bench, slightly lower in height. I have my Lee Loadmaster on it. It is also mounted to the same kind of plate. I can supply stool and bench heights if you want.

I went with Inline Fabrication Quick Detach Mount System. You have your choice of getting a flush mounted base plate or going with one on a riser stand. For $20-$25 they offer a plate designed to fit just about any press (counter-sunk holes aligned with press' mounting footprint).

I can easily swap out presses with the removal of two wingnuts. I have a docking station/rack from Inline Fabrications that I store the other presses when not in use. Clean and easy.

barret:

my plate sits on a corner of the desk.
one on front is a big old 1950's Lyman turret 4 hole.

I just roll the chair around to the side

that has two Lee turrets for pistol loading.
and one of the small Lee's mostly used to
size cast bullets, or bell case mouths.

I had several of these plates given to me. No cost.
Setup has worked out just fine for me. I know it's
not for everyone.
