Default packaging little long

my late friend Dave Delong once told me rifles are like women, "it's all in the packaging.
Dave would have gone ape sh*t over the cz 527 17 hornet for shooting desert jacks and fox hunting.

just put this one together a few days ago for ground hogs and lo and behold a friend was having a problem. seems a g-hog and a skunk had moved in under his house and were fighting over who was going to pay the rent. needless to say the skunk was raising a stink about it.

the house smelled so bad he had to sleep at his parents house. being the good guy that I am and never missing an opportunity to try and shoot a g-hog, I offered my services.
we, my better half Alicia and I had a sun yesterday and I knew he would be out about 11:00. as we arrived we saw him head for his hole. about 3 minutes later he ran out of the hole and stopped and ran right into a 20 grain v-max.
here is the new g-hog killer. cz 527 17 hornady hornet with calhoon single shot clip/magazine. it's shooting .50 with factory ammo. I went with the singleshot because I dislike the looks mag hanging down.

with singleshot magazine/clip

and my favorite package look

Very Nice! I imagine that it is just the beginning for a fine rifle! I have and like Calhoon followers, my loads are too long for the magazines.

One more shot and you can get the skunk too.

Nice looking rifle.

Bob, going a little sideways with this thread, do you see very many foxes in Missouri?

well I see a skinny old momma red fox once in a while but I leave her alone. figure she is a better mouser than the cats around here. did see her move her litter of kits one day. she made several trips with a mouth full of baby foxes

lots of coyotes but they are immune to calling, just been called so much they won't come to a call. I have had some success using a fox in distress call for the yodes.

Default Great story.....

Probably the best reason why we don’t “need” a 17WSM
The practical side of my brain says I need a 17HH that I can reload and the lazy side says I need a 17WSM that I don’t need to reload
Either way I’m glad that g-hawg ran into that V-Max
