Default 17 AH Loads

I am looking for a fur friendly load for y 17AH. I am shooting a 20 gr. bullet. I am looking for a load that shoots around 3000 fps or slightly lower. Does anyone have or know of any proven loads that shoot in around this velocity?
Thanks guys,
Ralph

A proven load is only proved in whatever it was shot with, and may or may not work well with your particular firearm. That being said, I'd refer to the Hodgdon and Ramshot sites, see what they tested and the velocities they recorded, and work up your load from there. Beyond that, there's a ton and a half of .17AH data to be searched on this forum.

Default Loads

Yeah, I was aware that hodgdon had a printed load at 3000 but wasn't sure if any other company's had any that people may have tried. None of my books have loads for 20 gr bullets. Thanks for the information, I'll check the other one out.

Default Loads

No. No reason other than I thought the 20s would be more explosive and not as apt to leave a messy exit hole. I have not tried either on fur so it's just theory on my part of thinking but open to try anything. Just hoping to find someone who may have already tried it. Thank you kindly for you suggestion.

Default Coyotes running like a scalded cat

17 ah

20g berger mef
3550 fps

coyotes will run 100 or more yards

Hit square in the ribs in front of the diaphram at 10-30 yards...

Like shooting blanks

Today, I would go 25g Hornady HP as fast as you can shoot them.

I shot more than a few when living in arizona
