Default Full Circle

My first small caliber purchase was a Remington 788 in 222, progressed to a Remington Varmint Special, then a Sako Rihimakki followed by a 40X. These all went down the road for one reason or another, probably haven't owned a 222 in 15 years. Saw a cute little Model 51 and the story begins anew...………...

I have a 788 in 222 that I bought for hunting turkeys in the fall in PA. Then I stopped hunting PA and never got around to shooting it that was about 20 years ago. Nice looking rifle you picked up.

My very first rifle, age 9 years was a win 92 30 WCF. Then a Rem in 30-06 and third a Savage 222 Rem. Only still have the Win 92. Should pick up another 222, as they are a fine caliber, but seem to be locked into the 17 & 20 cal now days. You will enjoy that one. Bill K

Hey Herb, is that a Cooper? If so, it should shoot really well. My 1st centerfire was a Reminton 700ADL in 222, really had some fun with that rifle, even shot the heads off a few doves with it. Just got another 222 over 50 years later. It is a Sisk Gunsmithing based on a Nesika T with Jewell trigger, etc. Out of an estate so I was told, and there was another one in 22 Hornet, just couldn't resist ya know.

She's got to go back to Cooper, has a really stiff bolt lift. Talked to their gunsmith and said the ramp probably needs some polishing. I guess I'll have the bases, rings and scope for it before I get it back. Here's hoping for a quick turnaround!
