Default OT I am home

I got to Thomas Jefferson in Philly at 5:45am on wed. Spent 10 hours in surgery. At my age this would be enough to kill a normal man but I have a lot of George in me. they removed all the Cancer from the right side of my face. Had to remove my Ear but no biggy a VC had taken the hearing from that ear years ago with an RPG. They repaired everything using my left thigh as a donor. I will need a Cane from now on but I am thinking Cane/Shooting Stick. My right eye is a little droopy but works fine and my lip is slightly stuck but I can get it out clear enough you know what I'm saying. I got home today around noon. 5 days I spent in there. I have to tell you this hospital is top notch. I never had to ask for a thing. They knew and it was there. Amazing. Well it will be a long recovery but hey the alternative sucks right?

Your Friend,

Steve

No place like Home Steve. Now for a speedy recovery and back too burning powder.. A good tripod will aid in walking and also, as you said, double as a shooting platform/walker. Bill K

Glad to hear it's over Stevo! Sometimes it seems that recovery isn't near as linear as we'd like it and it's 3 steps forward and two steps back but at a certain point ya realize the trend has all been upward. Then one day someone will mention cancer and you'll say "I had cancer once" and realize it's all behind you. Here's hoping that day comes soon.
16+ year survivor of a squamous cell carcinoma of the left neck with unknown primary.
God Bless .

Its all about attitude and it looks like you have a good one. Best in your recovery.

Steve, wishing you the very best and most rapid recovery, sorry you had to go through this but very glad you made it home both times.
