Default 2019/20 coyote season is over for me

Had a busy 3 months Nov/Dec/Jan and took 95 coyotes of which only 2 were throw aways due to mange. The rest were dressed out and sold for $150. CDN. each which is the most money ever gotten for coyote pelts.
96 coyotes were snared using Wolfmaster Rams and 1/16" cable over bait stations. I only shot 2 coyotes all winter.
One large female shot @ 330 yards with CZ27 Varmint 25gr Target Berger
One very large male shot @ 165 yards with 20BR 39gr Blitz King
My caught numbers were down compared to the last 2 seasons with less coyotes in certain areas. Would have liked to get 200 this past winter but the population numbers were down.
I'm feeling a little lost these days with the season being over due to the fur being rubbed and too much snow to deal with.
Will be recording some of my positive experiences and new tricks.
It was a lot of work hunting in the daytime and processing the fur in the evenings and early mornings.
I feel like I am back with the living...

With a fur check like that now you can buy that new truck and
a couple rifles too.

Hell of a price for a stinking coyote.

The way they fill in the gaps, you should at least double that number
next year. Re: kill one , four takes it's place.

Congrats on being a good dog trapper. I never gave that a try.
Caught three bobcats and a skunk in box trap.

And a badger that destroyed the trap. Then we got the bright idea of
filling the hole with water from a big tank and I'd shoot it when it came out.

Oh yeah!!! Learned that lesson well too! Not much blood donated for once,
but, just about undressed me when it blew out of the hole and up my legs and
shirt then was gone. Nope, never had a chance to fire a shot. All I really saw was exploding water.

Well done, Al. Well done indeed. Why is the season over, though I'd have thought it would run into March, anyway.

Coyotes loose the guard hairs this time of the year.
Once guard hairs are gone the fur is similar to rabbit hair and very little value Last season I quit Feb 10, this year a little earlier.
The fur market has been very poor for ALL fur but coyotes have been very strong from year to year. Things might change a little since CHINA is a fur buyer and experiencing the corona virus.
Canola prices have dropped sharply.

Great job, congrats! Would sure like to see some of your pics if you are inclined to post them.

I used to do some trapping back in the fur heydays of the 70s and early 80s, but unfortunately for us southern boys, the payday was never close to what you guys were seeing. Lot of memories and lessons learned tho.
