Default 260 Nosler

For those of you who subscribe to the "bigger is better " Philosophy ....I ran across the 26 Nosler . It's like a bigger 264 Mag , but works in a 30-06 Action . Nosler 129 Accubond Bullet at 3400 FPS . PBR of 415 Yards . As much Energy at 400 Yards as the 260 Rem has at the Muzzle . I've seen references that say the parent Cartridge is the 375 Ruger . Case Capacity supposed to be about 99 Gr . Water . Nosler Patriot Rifle with 1:8 Twist and Retail about $1600 . Yes ....we all know it will be a Barrel Burner . Couple other items new to me : Lee Deluxe Quick Trim Case Trimmer which has a Door Knob sized crank handle and chamfers both the inside and outside of Case Mouth . Alliant also has the Power Pro 1200-R Powder for the high volume 223 Loader . .

Default 26 Nosler

Thanks for the update xring, being a Nosler and a 264 fan, I'm really eager to learn more about this cartridge. I know all to well that speed comes with a price, but as a deer rifle, it will last me a good many years.

I'm a huge fan of the 6.5mm bore. Currently have a 260 ai, 6.5x50, and a 6.5 rem mag. I've shyed away from the 264 win mag only because I have no need for that much gun. But am thrilled another 6.5 may grow to wider acceptance. To me its the perfect bore. Would hunt anything but the most dangerous game.

Default 20 Nosler

Xring,
That does have a nice sound to it, might be the perfect cartridge to drive that 40 grain Nosler bullet over the 5000 fps mark Any body wanna check the ballistics on that?

Not really hanging in that manner. Hang a bear in this manner and see how long those hind legs would look, as compared to just standing/walking. Bill K

I inadvertantly saved our "Exalted Leader" on the range over the weekend...
Ran over a Shit Eating Dog. Had to back twice to see what I`d hit.
