To Russell's point, I'd forgotten mine also has a long throat, however shoots bug holes with cartridges with short OAL. Go figure. Likes 39 BK better than 40 VM.

Any factory rifle chambered for the 204 Ruger will have that very long throat, as the SAAMI reamer print I have on hand clearly shows it being designed that way. This is one of the features that allow this caliber to reach those screaming velocities, a la the "Weatherby factor".
