Default 17 Bee load data

Well this really awesome 83 year old man calls me snd gets me fired up about using CFE in the 17 bee so I did work up loads for velocity testing but waiting to shoot groups until the right day.

Next thing I know, I’m loading up some 17 killer bee with data 2200.

Anyone use 2200 in the 17 bees? I just shot one with 13.5 grs out the back door and it seems like a mild load.

Can't help you with AA2200 in the Bee, but I use it in some other small cartridges and it is one of the best. Easy flowing in measure and more often than not, gives the highest FPS, compared to other powders.
May just be the ticket in your Bee.

I like AA2200 a lot for 221FB and 223 Rem. In the FB, its burn rate is almost identical to RL7. I have also used it in 22 Hornet with 50gr bullets at 2100fps, making it a reloadable 22WMR clone.

Thanks Bill, I have one 8lb about gone and another 8lb jug ready to go because of the info you mention. Good stuff!

Thanks TinMan, I noticed on Ramshot burn rate chart it was the same burn rate so I used that info when loaded some up last night (wish Ramshot would update their burn rate chart to include newer powders like CFE although I do read where CFE is in the same burn rate area as 4198). While I don’t use it in the 223 or the 22 Hornet, I also us it in the 221 FB plus a 20-221 with extraordinary results. Like Bill says it yield some of the highest velocity‘s.

I shot off 5 rounds today from 13 grains up to 15.4 with no pressure signs yet. Decided I have enough info to load up a bunch to test for velocity and groups. And see how it compared to the CFE results.

Not sure why I didn’t think about 2200 years ago in the Bees.
