Price check
Ifound some 221 Fireball, Rem, brass
Most is new, part is 1x fired. Is $50 PER HUNDRED HIGH? I plan to neck it to 17 FB. O should I used already sized LC 223 to 17FB for $40 100? Snert |

The way 221FB is often harder too find, not too bad a price. But then again the resized LC brass is decent also. Just depends on your wallet and need. Bill K

Depends. How fast do you want your .17 FB to go? I think the Remington brass will have more case capacity. But the LC is definitely tougher. dedogs

If you buy the advertised on this site brass you will need to turn the necks, at least that is what has been reported. Most 17 fireballs can be formed w/o neck turning using 221 fireball brass. If you do not turn necks, the 221 is the way to go, IMHO
I have formed remington, nosler and lapua into 17 brass and it all worked well in my CZ527 without needing to turn necks. Allen |

fireball brass
I have necked it to 17 mk 4 never neck turned. 2 step down to 20 then 17 works slick. last time I saw 221 brass new it was 43$ at cabelas couple years ago.

Right now in the Nosler Pro Shop, new Nosler 221FB brass is tagged at $90/100pcs.
Fifty bucks seems like a deal......

Midway USA has Lapua 221 FB brass on sale for $67.50 per 100. I bought some the other day for a 20 FB project and got the last of what they had in stock but I believe they'll let you order some at that price on backorder and they are expecting it to be back in stock any time now.
