Default Cz 222/223?

A friend is building a rifle with a CZ527 .222 action, but the build will be using a 223 case. I know the Hornet and 222 share the same bottom metal and 17 Rem and 223 different bottom metal.
I’m told, the 223 metal will fit in the 222 stock and can then be used with 223 magazines.
If this is so, where is the difference in the 2 bottom metals?
Just want to be sure this will work before he pays for the 222 CZ.
Thanks in advance,Ken.
PS. Kind member here already donated the 223 botom metal.

Ken,
The difference, as I thought I understood it, was in the sizing of the bottom metal where the magazine is inserted. I thought, but have not verified on my own, on rifles I own, that externally, the magazine size differs between the classes of cartridges. My memory can be faulty on this. It has been a while since I have owned a 527 Hornet and .223. Now I only have a .223. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Products that I am looking for but can't seem to find no matter how hard I look:
Leopold Scopes, Forester reloading equipment and Victorianox knives.

I video recorded all of my Highpower Rifle matches. Pretty soon I am going to watch them all in reverse order so that I can watch those F Class guys GO HOME and leave us alone so that we can shoot Highpower Rifle.

Kenbro, the difference is between the magazine cut out and front screw. Approx. 2.5mm for 222 to a 223.

Sure hard to tell anything from that picture due to the
different angles between them.

Any chance you could lay a tape measure alongside those openings?
Give something to compare to that way.

By the way: Welcome to the board, I see this is your first post.
Great start, trying to help already. You'll fit in nicely among us.

What difference do you see that I don't?

The gap between the well and the screw head George looks to be almost double on the 222
