Default Bank of America anti gun stance

Glad I don’t do banking there anymore. I have one B of A credit card to shred as soon as I find a suitable replacement.

Actually no. Citigroup was the one that announced previously, this is new news. Below is the press release from yesterday:

Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) plans to stop lending to companies that make military-style firearms for civilians, Bloomberg reports, making it the second major U.S. lender to address gun sales after the high school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

Citigroup added firearm restrictions last month for new retail sector clients.

"We want to contribute in any way we can to reduce these mass shootings," said BofA's Anne M. Finucane.

All they're really doing is adding to the pool of ignorant and uninformed/misinformed and we already have plenty of that to go around. They'll accomplish nothing as somewhere a Bank will say...hmmm there's money to be made here and money is their God.

I wonder if they will stop lending to the companies that make true "Assault weapons", "mass destruction weapons", and truly frighteningly "weapons of war"? Like Raytheon, Orbital ATK, Lockheed, General Dynamics etc...(Of course they won't)

What a truly ignorant move money wise for C and BAC.

I wonder how they will feel about a baseless law suit for denial of lending based on this.

All that can be done is to vote with your $ and add them to the "Ignorant CEO" list along with Dicks, WMT, and others.

I think that they should also consider not lending to any company that manufactures or sells alcohol as over 5,000 teenage deaths per year are linked to alcohol -- Where is the rage? This doesn't include all deaths related to alcohol, only teen deaths.

I think that they should not loan any money to any cell phone manufacturer or retailer or cell carrier that sells cell phones. Not just that , in addition to outlawing texting while driving (it does no good to outlaw), but should outlaw the sale or possession of a cell phone by any teenager as there are over 3,500 deaths per year from distracted driving -- and teenagers are the biggest offender.

Oh yes, and by all means crack down on homicides by rifle as there were a whopping 252 deaths by rifle in 2015.

Things to think about.

IBurt
They do not care about the many more teen deaths, by all other means, i.e. alcohol and motor vehicles.
All they are locked onto is Assault weapons, and they don't even know what a true assault weapon is, they are all being played for fools over the AR and Ak. But then again ignorance keeps coming out with and by them. Bill K

Old news, new news... No harm in making sure everyone is aware.

The wife and I left B-of-A in the mid nineties. All we had with them was a simple personal checking account. We had errors on our Statement in (I think) three out of three or three out of four months. Anyway, I figured if a dummy like me had to keep explaining basic accounting to them, it was not a good place to keep any money!

Another one bites the dust, for all I'm concerned. I almost wish I was using BofA so I can cancel my account and tell them why I'm doing it.
