Kerry, bet you end up liking the Wilson dies if you give them a try . As for an inexpensive arbor press, think small mechanic's press. Like Harbor Freight. Or, an old bottle cap press at the 2nd hand store. There are two Sinclair units on ebay right now though, not cheap. I have one of Russ Haydon's presses and really like it.

You can seat the bullets with your hands using the Wilson seater, as the reply above noted. For the neck dies, use a small brass mallet or hammer. Works a treat!

An arbor press shouldn't require a second mortgage...

I think amazon has a bald eagle arbor press for like 60 bucks right now. I use my Wilson dies by hand. And I use a estwing double sided soft mallet.

It's like ignoring a good excuse to buy another rifle.

look in the first sentance I ALREADY DONE THAT

Seriously, an arbor press is the right tool for bullet seating. You can feel any changes and adjust the sizing process the next time around or set aside goofy-feeling rounds. I went the Sinclair route when I started benchrest shooting about 10+ years back. I break out the Wilson neck dies on for special tasks, too.

Harold
thanks for the answers guys
