That looks great! If your only shooting out to around 300 yds. how much better is the .20 VT really? Have you run it over a chrony yet?

What twist did you go with in the new barrel?

I don't own a 221 FB but have 1000's of rounds of PD experience with with a 223 Rem and 20 VT both with 40 VMax's at 3400 fps which is also about 221 FB speed. Most shots @ 100-300 with occasional 400+. I'd usually rather move than shoot 400-500 unless it's dead calm at near dusk.

My experience is the .224 VMax's hit a little harder and have a little more acrobatics and the .204 VMax's have a little wind advantage......but it's really not a big difference that gives either bullet a discernable advantage.

But "Ya just gotta love the VT" @ 18g of powder which leads me to believe I'd also love the FB.

I have a 20 VT on a Sako A1 Pac Nor and haven't been able to get it to shoot consistently this good. I don't have a chrony.

Curious, what powder are you using ? AA2200 or Rl 10 work very well in finding and holding the best accuracy, with 32-39 grain bullets in the VT. Just a thought. Bill K

How much greater are the groups for the 20VT with the Sako A-1? Just curious, as sometimes you just get a 'hummer' barrel.

I haven't worked with the 20vt that much, but didn't get groups like this from the beginning. I have tried N120, AA1680, AA2200, H4198 and RL7. The RL7 has produced groups in the 2s and 3s with 32 BK.
