CCI "military" primers
The local gun shop has small rifle primers boxed as "CCI Military." Would they be appropriate for use in everything from .22 Hornet through things made from 220 Russian until the blight passes?

Are they #41's?

I've been using them in my ARs for 17 and 20 Tacts, good stuff.

I believe that they are just a small rifle primer that has a little thicker cup to prevent slam fires in AR-15's. If the price was right I'd buy them.

I think they are a lot like the CCI 450, but with an even harder cup. Wouldn't recommend them for Hornets unless there was nothing else available.

Well, I tried CCI-41's, Wolf SRM and CCI-450's in my .204, everything else being the same, 39 Sra BK's and 10X powder and I got 60+ fps faster with the 41's.

CCI lists the #41 and #34 as being the same as "Magnum" primers. As mentioned, harder cups to help eleminate slam fires.
Work great in my Mini 14, M1A and AR. If you plan to use them in a bolt gun, be sure to start over building a charge. And if the price is right, jump on them while you can. Better than nothing. |

I happen to remember that I tried the CCI-41's in my Ruger No 1V in .204 and I got a few rds that wouldn't go off no matter how many times you'd recock it and pull the trigger. I pulled the rest of them.
I know I could get a stronger hammer spring. Tom |
