Default Bedding a 527?

looking for info on bedding a 527. Does one just bed around the recoil lug area and maybe the tang? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks Tom

Tom. I am no expert by any means, but I would bed from the recoil lug all the way to the rear tang area. Give that entire action a good solid base. Even add some Pillars in the action screw areas. That way all is solid, with the barrel, most of the time, free floating forward of the lug area. I am sure others will give good and even better suggestions. Bill K

For initial testing, I used a plastic shim (old charge card) under the action behind the lug, and one at the tang screw. Testing showed sub 1/2" groups. I shot it this way for several years, then got around to bedding it in glass - at the rear (tang) and behind the lug - as well as the T-guard - done.
