Default self quarantined ground squirrels

My wife and I did some self quaranting yesterday - we hopped in the truck and went out to one of our ground squirrel shooting fields, we spent all day self quarantined in the truck shooting squirrels.

The ranches that we hunt we are the only ones allowed on and the only interaction we have most of the time is a wave at one of the cowboys/ranch hands.

Still a little cool and early here for very many to be up, this is our 3rd trip out in as many weeks - 1st week we got 78 total, last week we got 130, yesterday 187. The good news is that by mid-week it is supposed to be 60 and sunny - you can bet that we will be out among them all day long.

Hope the rest of you have some opportunities to get out.

I would do the same thing, as I did a few days ago, but now the last two days I have snow up here on the mountain again, so a set back came in. I too have one great pivot area too shoot at and I am the only one allowed in. Paradise and so much fun. Bill K

These two posts kind of remind me of David Geffen self quarantining on his yacht.

I'm envious.

I’m so jealous!!
Had to cancel my trip last week to oregon for gophers, and I’m sure my pd trip will go down in flames.
Enjoy what you have.
Mine is such a small loss compared to many, but I do miss it.
Best
Larry

Larry,
Nice to see a post from you, hope you and yours are doing ok through this crisis. It hasn't had much of an effect where I am but I sure feel sorry for a lot of folks.

Hope to see you at a One-Shot again one of these days.

Well, they say misery loves company, so take solace in knowing that my crew and I just cancelled a week-long rat shooting trip here in Orygun.

Disappointed and bummed, but I'm telling myself that we're practicing "Personal Responsibility"..... Sounds good, but I'm still bummed.

I feel your pain. My wife had her quilting retreat for April cancelled. Now what am I to do. Was planning on using that time to go find a replacement for the SAS.

Michael.

Miserable quarantining here - still under snow.

Well I did receive some good news a while ago. Will venture out to my local gunsmith ( essential business) and pick up my CZ 527, which is now a neat little 17 Fireball, for walk about and coyotes, rock chucks and other such critters. Bill K

Good news. Fireball sized rounds are some of my favorites. Don't have a 17FB, but do have 221FB and a 17M4. Tons of fun.
