You can try stretching it.... Actually I had a 30-30 barrel that someone had put a 2" sleeve extension on to use as a carbine. It was a very good job and you couldn't tell by looking from the side. Made it look like a 50 cal bore from the muzzle though! Shot scary good on my shoulder stock.
