I have a Swarovski ATS-65 with angled eye piece that is like new. I don't use it and would sell it for $1100 which is a little less than half price. Let me know if you are interested.

There you go - lots of money but worth it. Many years from now when you want to sell it you'll get most of your money back.

I use a Meopta meopro 80 hd. I can see 17 cal holes in plain cardboard at 300 yards. Range is shot north to south and mostly shot in the morning. I haven't looked at cardboard targets further than that.

Just because of heat mirage causing blurry situations.
Get a variable that will turn down to fairly low power.
Straight powers you can'T adjust til they're
clear. don't matter what type glass it is.

Default Spotting scopes

Another option, if you really do not need another spotting scope, is Caldwell's long range video spotting/camera system. ON sale via Amazon for around $314.00 . Bill K

If I wanted to see 17 and 20 caliber holes, or even 30 cal holes at those distances I would be looking at camera's.

When working at shorter distances 100 and 200 I would hang the target board on the front of my target frame and a second sheet of plain cardboard on the back of the frame. I made/make my own target frames out 1" material. The spotting scope is looking at the hole at a slight angle and not directly through the hole as through the rife scope. This gives a contrast through those tiny holes that helps.

When things start heating even the best scopes have problems seeing through the mirage at distance. Add humidity and only get worse.
