Default My 17-223 build

Parts are showing up. Put the lower together and waiting for the rest.

This is small but don't want it to touch 1.5" hand guard

Detech is chambering a 24" 1-9 shilen turned down to a light contour. Have Reeeds 32 grain to try first. The Hyperfire 3 g is a pretty good 2.5# trigger with a short pull and just a touch of creep that i don't notice in the field calling coyotes. Got on sale for $115.00. Supposed to strike primers harder also. My second one. Scope is a 3x9 Trijicon accupoint which is a first for me. Wanted something lighter than my 20" bull barrel dpms. Have been known to spray a few at coyotes

sounds like a fun build! I was thinking something like a 17 predator slinging 30's would be about as flat as it gets for the ar platform. i'm sure your 17-223 won't be far behind it

I got cheap and went the easy route. Wanted a 17-204 or a 17-224 valkyrie but 17-223 dies are only 60$, didn't have to buy a reamer and the brass is cheap and good.

Default Lapped upper receiver face

Kit called for 180 grit but the 600 worked fine.
