An interesting find..... Needs a face lift...
Yesterday I ran across a 1968 vintage Winchester Model 1894 in 32 Win Spcl. Like any old rifle with an unknown history, it shows some signs of being treated by a back porch gun smith. Metal and wood are both in great shape, but the slots in the magazine tube holder band screw and the fore end barrel band screw are buggered from the use of the "wrong" screw driver.
So.......... My question is: Does anyone know where I might find replacement screws for the fore end barrel band and for the magazine tube holder band? I've tried Brownells and Jack First, and neither were able to help me. If you know where I might find the two screws, please let me know. Or, if you happen to have the screws in your stache that you would be willing to part with, please PM me and let me know what I might need to do to get them into my AO and on this rifle. TIA - BCB

Another source might be Doug Turnbull. He does a lot of old guns and restorations. By the way, way back when I had one in 32 special and that one had the octogon barrel. Like a fool traded it off, probably around 1954.

I wasn't aware that Winchester made any .32 SPL's after 1964.

Apparently they made at least one............... The serial number fits the 1968-69 time frame. Well above the 2,700,000 cut off for the Pre-64 Model 94 rifles. My previous Model 94 32 Win. Spcl. was a pre-64 era rifle. Like Bill, I foolishly got rid if it years ago for some reason that I cant remember. Now I have another one. -BCB

I did the same with a 1958 .32 Spl. I received the rifle from my Uncle's estate, and the 1 1/2 boxes of ammo he bought with the rifle. Those, RP's went into 6" at 100 -meters off the bags, with the factory sights. I picked up a box of WW 170 PP's & the first 5 of those went into a 6" bullseye making a 1 1/2" group. Subsequent groups also ran 1 1/2" with those factory rounds. No vertical with heat, either.
My best friend needed it more than I did, so I traded it for a repro. 1861 Enfield Musketoon. I should have kept that .32 as a deer rifle, since that's the only big game I hunt now.
