Anyone shooting a 22 Nosler ?
Don't think you will find many 22 Nosler shooters here, there are a few but don't know why you are not getting a response.
I think if you went to one of the AR forums you will get more response. One to try is the AR section on the 204 ruger.com site. Bill K |

I am surprised no one here is shooting one. I can't handle the ar15 forums. The varmint forums do not get much traffic. I will look around 204. Thanks.

I was looking through my bullet cave and found ~1500 old manufacture 80 gr. Berger VLD bullets. My 1-8 twist barrels are a bit slow for this bullet so I decided to purchase a 1-6.5" 224 Valkyrie barrel for an AR build. PSA was running a barrel and bolt special for $150 shipped, so one was ordered. Like the Nosgar, the 224 Valkyrie uses a 6.8 SPC bolt which should address the Nosler brass issue. Given the long bullets and LOA limitations of the magazines, I opted to go the Valkyrie route. My 223 CZ magazines allow a LOA of 2.320" and if I was going in that direction, I would have gone with the Nosgar.

Almost. I was going to build one on a shot out Sako L461 I have. The 22 nosler didn't want to reliably feed out of the Sako's magazine box and I didn't want to screw around with modifying it so it's now a 9 twist 223 instead.

Late to the party here but yes, I have a 22 Nosler AR platform. Currently I using a Ballistic Advantage barrel 24" with 1-8 twist.
I have had great results with Nosler 60 gr Varmageddons and Hornady 75 gr match both getting .3 MOA 5 shot groups. Just got a White Oak Armament barrel, 24" with a 1-12 twist that I plan on using for 35 to 45 gr bullets. I should get to near .204 speeds. |
