Default Wondering

if anyone on here is involved in this video, and if it is over your side of the Pacific ?

If so, well done. I am sure there was someone on here who was doing this kind of hunting. Either way, its a good video.

Don't hunt coyotes that way myself, but see and hear more and more are using decoy dogs to lure and hold them in closer for shots. It is a good video. Bill K

Camel,
I take my Springer Spaniel with me when chasing foxes, well on farms that allow us to take a dog. Do you think that would work on Foxes ? I have never let my Springer tackle a fox as we use him for tracking only.

Pete, I don't know how foxes would go trying to use dogs as an extra lure, every time I have seen a fox used on foxes it has either been to catch them, or to try dig them out of dens. I think the fox would just bugger off at the first sight/smell of a dog.

I believe you are right about that, just waiting for it to cool down enough so we don't have to worry about snakes and we will be back into them. Springers and snakes, not a good mix.

Pete: IT's cooled down here: 2F right now.

Camel: I don't get on FB, can't get rid of it.

I've watched several vids of trained dogs running out in the pastures
to bait coyotes, once they're being chased the dogs run back within
range of the shooter. Quite a few do that the way it looks. Iv'e never
seen it is person though.

Cousin's buddies had greyhounds. They'd drive around til they jumped
coyotes then turn the dogs loose. Fast as they are and vicious killer too
the coyotes are run down and the leader knocks 'em for a spill, the backup
dogs attack and kill it right quick.

Never saw it done, or been in on it. Met some guys with the dogs once.
They were just back from such a running at that time. Killed several, I don't
recall how many now, that was back in '97, my memory isn't that long.

Not enough fox in this area to do much with.
