Bcb..........
Very nice Sako find!!.........AND in a sweet cartridge. The classic style is not generally seen very often.
BTW.....Sako did make target triggers, that go down to about 4 ounces, for the A series receivers. From the factory, they were usually only seen on PPC-BR rifles.......but I've seen them on 17 and 223 AI-HB repeater varmint rifles. In the past, the triggers were sold separately. Here's a pic of one of mine. Hope this helps. Kevin |

Thanks again guys. Kevin, that target grade trigger is very interesting. I was not aware that they existed. Any ideas on original factory price? This will be strictly a hunting rifle so the factory trigger will suffice just fine. George, I'm not sure what you are referencing with your "short lived" comment.....? Maybe I'm just being dense but it ran right over my head. Not the first time that something has left me baffled however.......... It seems to happen to me more frequently with age. -BCB

I was looking around a few minutes ago and found this:
https://bulletcentral.com/product-ca...ents/triggers/ An excellent price on Bix'n Andy triggers for Rem 700 actions compared to what they went for not too long ago........ Still very pricey for Sako rifles. Hmmmmm............. -BCB

Bcb..........
I fully agree......that the standard Sako trigger should work great. It can be SAFELY adjusted down to about 2.5 lbs.........but, for that rifle/cartridge combination, I'd only go down to about 3 lbs.
I found the separate Sako target trigger a few years ago......yes, pricey!! I tried it on a 17-222 PD rifle build(there's a pic of it in one of my old posts).......but later replaced it with a Canjar single-set. Other plans for the trigger. When you "tire" of the 6.5x55 Swede.......holler at me. Kevin Last edited by Kevin Gullette; 02-12-2019 at 02:58 AM. Reason: fix |

Thanks for the reply with the additional information about the Sako target trigger, Kevin.
As for "tiring" of the 6.5x55 cartridge, this is my second rifle in this cartridge for now. The other one is a Ruger No. 1 Tropical Rifle that I have had for awhile (maybe ~10 years?), and its still a great cartridge in my mind. I will confess that I did let a Rem 700 Classic in 6.5x55 go down the road a few years back. It just seemed like a lot of rifle in terms of stock and barrel size for the cartridge. This rifle is a great size, and it will definitely get shot soon........ As soon as the monsoon and cold season is over here, and hopefully maybe on Friday if one can trust the weather guessers on TV who peer into the future. Thanks again......... -BCB
