Thank you,
I may give that a try in my 24" AR. I'm pushing 39 grain Sierra's at 3915 with 26.3 grains of H322. This is a pretty warm load but there are no pressure signs. My goal with this build was to hit 4000 fps and 1/2 moa or better accuracy. I cannot achieve this with H322, I might give 4198 a try. |

Thanks Bill. Always do. I do all of my load testing in .1 grain increments and check every case for pressure signs. It has been a very fun project. I did a Savage with a 1:11 twist 22" barrel last summer for my father. That gun was very impressive! He wanted to shoot 32 grain Vmax. Did all my testing with H322 and Remington small rifle benchrest primers. I forget what powder charge I settled on but I had the velocity all the way up to 4350 with no pressure sign and still holding a 3/4" group. I stopped there and backed it down about .7 grains and settled on 4150 with a nice little bug hole group. I recently acquired a Shotmarker and built the target frame for it last night.
I will start a new thread this summer showing my groupings and all load info for the 2 guns I have to develop this spring. 20" Whiteoak Armament with a 1:11 twist AR 22" Tikka T3X with a CarbonSix 1:11 twist. Hoping both of these will be good shooters. |
