Hey Bill, I have 2 or the Lee decapping dies, but none have a rod small enough to get into the case of a 17 cal. I searched everywhere for a 17 caliber rod but do not see them listed for sale. Any help??

Redding is supposed to have a small case decapping die, and optional 17/20 cal rod for it.

Default 17 cal de-capper

Hey 20VarTarg,
I made my own by chucking the Lee decapper rod in a drill press and using sandpaper wrapped around the rod until I got to the desired diameter. Works great!

Either Lee will or can furnish one, or take the 20 caliber rod and work it down to fit the 17 neck. Bill K

I think I saw on the Hornady website a general purpose decapper for the 17 and up.

Thanks everyone. I could not find one single website that had the redding die and the rod both in stock. One website would have the rod and no die and another would have the die and no rod. Bill K mentioned that Lee made a rod for their universal decapper (which I have 2 of) and after a good bit of searching I found a website that had them in stock. I ordered 2 just in case I bust one for some stupid reason.
