Question Sako AI Firing Pin Assembly

Gents,

I need to separate the firing pin from the shroud/cocking piece. On earlier versions there is a set-screw through the cocking piece, where now there's a "blind hole".

I've an idea......but I'd like to hear others experience first.

Thanks,
Kevin

Default firing pin

It is the same set up with the set screw but they drill the head off the set screw off so the firing pin protrusion can not be altered.

Thumbs up Thanks for.....

....the reply Chris. That was my thought also.

After repeated close looks at the "blind hole", I'm pretty sure that Sako drilled the top of the set screw off.

Looks like a small drill and ez-out are in order.....but where to find a fine thread metric set screw?

Thanks,
Kevin

Default Set screw

Sir, have a friend that took a carbide micro mill and cut a new slot in a set screw in a similar problem. Took some time for setup and cut but it worked. Good luck.
