Yup........
.222 Die with a bushing and have your smith cut a Wilson Seating blank with your Chamber reamer and you have a perfect seating die. Done. Phil. |

I use the redding bushing die. And hornady 20 cal generic seater. Doesn't get much easier.

20-222 dies
I guess everyone has their own way of making this case. After finding out short of ordering a custom set there was nothing out there I ended up loading my own on the cheap. Started out with a std Redding 222 FL die with the expander stem removed, surprisingly this almost got me there. After that I used a 20.00 Hornady 20cal generic neck sizing die. Used the 222 seater and was done. Punched out 200 cases from lowly Rem 222 brass, neck concentricity be damned(never measured it, might be straight as an arrow) and it shoots right around .5". Second loading I used my seater from a Hornady 20VT, doesn't shoot any better, still .5"....I'm done. No bushing dies, no Lapua brass, just crappy Rem brass and a mish mash group of dies I already had. I will say both rifles have premium barrels, smithed by someone that knows what they are doing and good 2lb triggers.

G'day Jack
Yeah Ill go along with the others, just a slightly different way. I use a Redding S type neck die and Redding 222 body die. For necking down, I use an old Super Simplex 5/8th 222 seating die as a halfway neck down die, then run the cases into my Redding die with a .230 neck bush. My chamber is .234 in the throat, so it works a treat. You will find a great deal of enjoyment from your 20/222.
