Default CZ527 221FB parts

Friend wants a lefty 527 but in 221FB, which doesn't appear to be done.

What parts besides barrel and magazine need to be changed? What would be the most popular compatible caliber someone would wish to swap these parts with? Looks like lefty is 204 or 223 only.

There are 221 FB barrels showing up on classified at times.

The 221fb will likely feed from a 223 or 204 mag.

If not, I can't see a lot of trouble getting it to feed.

A 204 barrel would probably sell for enough to buy 221FB. Good luck.

Kenny

What I can find is the mag is FB specific, don't know about the bottom metal.

Mags- 17Rem, 204R, 22Hornet, 221 FB, 222 Rem, 223 3 shot, 223 5 shot, 7.62x39.

Default bottom metal

There are 3 different bottom metals, one for long magazines - .223, 204, 17 Rem, one for short magazines .221,.222 and hornet and the long one for 7.69x39 is slightly different to take the 7.62 x 39 magazine.

4, if you count the M1.

He called CZ USA today, they said they'd build a lefty 221FB no problem. Wonder what the wait will be.

CZ building one may cost more but that would be the way to go. Kenny

I take it import/export laws/taxes make that impossible these days? Is there a CZ Aus or NZ?

The export charges and shipping plus the 15% tax (on the purchase price, export fees and shipping) would more than double the purchase price.

If you ask the importer here they just say it's not in the catalogue so it isn't made.......Kiwi
