Cabelas has the mini in 223 on sale for $399.99. Looked at one last week when I bought a SigSauer M400 Predator at Cabelas. Only negative in my opinion was the plastic magazine/trigger guard. The two stage trigger felt pretty good.

Would this action be to small to use for a 6x45 running 85 grain bullets?

The HB .222 Mini piqued my interest; but what's the barrel length, 20 inches? Hogue makes the Mini stocks for the complete rifles, but don't sell any retail that I can find; would have to have a varmint channel anyway for what I want.....

Max OAL is my concern as well. AR15 type OAL's work great for 223 or shorter case 20's, but limits you for 223-up. Need like a 2.450"-2.500" OAL capability. I dislike center feed detachable mags for varminting. Much easier to keep popping rounds in a stagger feed internal while scoping around. Looks like they have box mag conversions for the 1500 short/long for those who like them.
