Has anyone had any luck finding this locally at a well known store? I've tried auto part stores, hardware and even welding shops. no luck, i finally had to order some on midway so ill have some in a few days but I'm just curious where to find this without ordering online. thank you for any input in advance.

From their website, it looks like their distributors are industrial supply houses like Grainger, MSC, Fastenal, etc. Try calling them in your area.

But to be honest I wouldn't spend the money again, at least for inductive heating, watching for color change in a dark room is just as accurate, +/-50F. However the 450F has some value especially for shorter cases to make sure you don't get heat too high too close to the case head.
