Check this one out (not mine): http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=393488865
Saw your new post only minutes after you posted and no doubt that was a fantastic price and I almost did the “I’ll Take It” before anyone else, but “She Who Must be Obeyed” has put a moratorium on all my future gun purchases until after our move to Houston/Cypress area. She says it’s just more stuff to move.

Yes I guess I didn’t think it thru far enough a rimfire scatter gun based on the 22Mag cartridge is what I would want not the 22LR. But still a T/C Contender with smooth bore barrel would be really cool in my book.

Larry you might be able to buy an H&R complete rifle as cheap as a TC barrel.

Default smoothbore

We all need to keep in mind that we are talking barrels over 18 inches to keep everything legal. Short barrel TC contenders are not smoothbores for a reason (ATF).

Hmm… I seem to recall a little shotgun called the “Snake Charmer” and several pistol and a derringer that were set up to shoot 410 gauge shot shells and/or 45 Colt cartridges for the purpose of vermin control. Come to think of it T/C had a 10 and 12 inch barreled 410/45 colt option that I wanted to own for a very long time, but never got around to buying one.
Plus I own contenders that are long barrels. 223Remington a 22 hornet and a 357mag, 24 inch, 22 inch and 20 inch respectively. So why couldn’t they (T/C) make a smooth bore barrel 18 inches and longer?

They do make a long barrel smooth bore, a 410 and I was thinking maybe a 28. I shoot tc rifled choked 357, 44, and 45 but none are as good as a smooth bore like my 22lr garden gun or the 45 lc shot shell in a 410.
