Default Deer season is closed for me.

Hunted hard this year and weeded through lots of small bucks. Finally found a mature deer early this morning. So happy to have been able to harvest such a beautiful buck

Thank you everyone! The rifle is a surgeon long action with a benchmark barrel chambered in 28 nosler. The scope is a nightforce ATACR 5-25x56. It makes for a great combination but is a little on the heavy side. I had it built as a long range shooter so it was to be expected to some degree. I made the shot at 255 yards. I used a 180gr. berger VLD and i have to say, it did a great job on a very fast and clean kill.

What kind of velocity are you getting with the 180s? I've been using the Berger 168 VLDs getting 3460. Been wanting to try the 180s.

Very nice buck, Congrats. Worth the wait and weeding out the smaller one's, if that is what you wanted.. Enjoy the meals. Bill K

Very nice shooter Buck,
a little OT and not a small caliber,
but an interesting read on the 28 Nosler, 195 Bergers @ 3100+fps.
