Default CZ 527 22 Hornet Magazine

I have two CZ 527 22 Hornets. I have used the Calhoon single shot adapters with good results for years. I don't remember who had one but i am interested in having a magazine modified so I could shoot ballistic tip bullets as a repeater once in a while. Sometimes the sage rats show up enmasse!

Calhoon also sold modified mags. I just modified my own. It really is pretty easy to do.

I tried to access the Calhoon website yesterday before I posted, again today. I can't get it to open. I will try again later. I have trouble disassembling and getting the magazines back together, clumsier after arthritis made an appearance. I hope everyone is staying safe. We finally have clear skies after two weeks of smoke. Others had it much worse, hope they recover from the devastation the fires brought.

Basically you just remove 1/10th of an inch from the rear plastic spacer block. Then re-drill the two cross pin holes and replace the cross pins.

The block of wood is a low tech jig I made a number of years ago to modify about 25 rear spacer blocks. The block was placed in a vice level with the steel jaws then a plastic spacer was put in the jig and a palm sander was used to shorten the spacer block. Then scrape the spacer with a pocket knife and re-drill. You modify the back of the block not the curved front.

One easy method to grind the plastic insert is with a belt sander, or even an orbital/palm sander.

Perhaps the very easiest would be David S.'s method of holding the insert, so as not to remove as much skin.

After completion, replace the insert, then drill the new holes. The way I did mine was the lower hole/pin went barely in front of the insert.
This gave the longest capacity and allowed plastic tipped 40gr., however the seating depth was deeper than I wished for accuracy and case
capacity, so I went back to single loading.
