Default Vihtavuori

I'm very happy with N133 in my TAC 20.

Thumbs up

I've several pounds each N120, N130 & N135 on my shelves waiting for their turn. In almost everything from 17AH to 22-250. Very clean burning powders & temp stable, but it's pri$y.

they are definitely all that, very clean powders. N133 is great in my tac 20, 4198 in my particular rifle proved most accurate but its nowhere near as fast as n133 in my barrel. N140 in my 6br is nothing short of magic. N130 was the only powder I ever used in my 20VT, 20 duster was a toss up between N130 and N133, never tried anything else both were so good.

Also, sometimes I can get a little sensitive to the way some powders smell, 10x would always bother my sinuses after loading alot of it for a few hours, nothing like that to report with VV powders so far. However, I suspect this is pretty low on the list of criteria for most people

I am also a Vit user as first choice. N133 in 6PPC, N120 in 17AH and N150 in 20BR. Also got a drop of N160 for the 20BR, wants about 2 gr more for the same result. Not quite as good accuracy wise as N150.

N120 in .17AH and 7.62X39, N133 in .222 Remington, N140 with 75 gr. A-Max in .223 Remington, N105 in .357 Magnum, N110 in .41 and .44 Magnums, N310 for .45 ACP cast bullets and N340 for +P jacketed. Yes I would say they are the real deal. The powders used in handguns are very low flash which I need when shooting in my basement, 23 yds and up to and including .44 Magnum! They are indeed expensive but are only a small percentage of the total cost of the reload.

If the gun likes vv powder than so be it but as far as it being the one and only powder I don't settle for that. For high volume pd rounds Ramshot powders have gotten the nod for me more times than any other

I haven't used VVN powders in any of my .204 caliber rifles, however, VVN-540 has worked real well for me with the 30 gr. Starke FBHP Red Prairie Varmint bullets out of my 1 in 9 twist .17 Remington with a Shilen barrel. I was looking for a powder that would give me a bit more velocity than some I had been using and read the hype about how VVN-540 would give you more velocity WITHOUT excessive pressure??? How that happens is beyond me, but it worked for me.

I also used N-540 with the 25 gr. V-Max bullets in my .17 Tactical for fire forming loads, but switched to Varget for hunting loads. I also tried N-540 with the 30 gr. BTHP Kindler Golds, but now use Varget with the 30 gr. Golds.

Also burned up a bunch of N-135 in the .17 Remington with a Pac-Nor 1 in 9 barrel pushing 25 gr. V-Max bullets, but accuracy never was much good so I went to N-540 with good success.

I use N540 for .17rem 30gr bullet loads. Outstanding accuracy.

Also use N135 for .223rem 60gr Hornady bullet loads.

Mostly shoot Ramshot TAC and other lower cost powders in my other .223rem rifles. When the Vit is gone I will not buy anymore. Gun shop in Phoenix charges $32 a pound compared to $22 for Ramshot powders.

That N-540 in the 17 rem with the 30s was like unreal how good of a combo it was in my riffle. Outstanding velocity and pretty good groups but tfor whatever reason the 30 Golds didn’t like to be spun that fast… It also shot better with more nk tension.
