If you're interested in Elmer, Cabela's in Boise, Id has a small museum to honor him. Has some of his guns for viewing too. To me it was worth the time stopping, because of him, my first handgun was a Super Blkhawk which I still have. I put a LOT of 429421's down range.

Alan I'm doing a .250 Savage Ackley improved. Gotta find out if its as much fun as the .257 Ackley Improved. FWIW: the Killer Bee's, 20 PPC, and Javelina Improved are the best cartridges ML

Ray,
Elmer talked me into my first center fire pistol. Was about 1970 when he was promoting a M29 with a 4" barrel. He said to sit down, lay back against a tree and with a 2 handed hold rest the back of one hand on your leg for a steady aim. Only thing was, he said "it really smokes your trousers up with that 4" barrel. I went out and bought one in ss and it had a superb trigger pull. That was when we could own them! I'd certainly go see that museum, if ever I get back to America. Thanks,Ken.
