Or did I hear that they were going to use a 5mm mag case. Or are they going to start produceing the greatest varmint round of all time, THE MIGHTY 17 AH and rename it the 17 Hornady Express. Now I remember, the old 44rf case will be necked down to .204. It will be called the 20 Velocity Rimfire Ultra Magnum or 20VRUM.

Seriously, If we are guessing here. I will say that it is a round that will modernize the 22 Hornet case and will slightly exceed its performance, but then again that would just be a 22AB wouldn't it.

All this think'n is makeing my head hurt.

LOL that’s was good Qaz!!!

I would only guess that you may have nailed it down in one of your scenarios...

Just happened on to it, liked the hood scoop and thought that I would post it here… I am interested in hearing what comes out on the 14th and if its anything like the accurate small calibers that they have been coming out with it should be awesome…

My guess is a super short .204 Ruger. Something say, 1.400 inches long. I think they are going to legitimize the 20 Vartarg. Like the .17 Fireball-vs-Mach IV, it'll be the same case with a different name. Pure speculation, but my guess.

So...it's the 14th--and halfway through the day. Any idea what "the most advanced varmint ammuntion in the world" is all about?

New 222, 223, 22-250 and 243 loaded ammo. All 100-200fps faster through new powders. Sounds like the double deterrent stuff from a few threads ago. Also mentioned changing powder shape to get what they wanted.

222 was 3345 fps with 50VMAX

223 was 3465fps, with new 53gr VMAX with 0.290 BC.

22-250 was 4000 fps with 50VMAX.

243 was 3965 fps with 58VMAX.

No mention whether the new 53 VMAX would be available as a component.

Well,
Given that Hodgdon will be releasing the Super Performance powder for the bigger cal stuff I hoppe they release this new powder for small cal stuff...and I want that 53gr pill at .290BC!

I must admit though that RL15 is having a ball in my Tikka T3 Lite 22-250. I'm getting 3650fps with a 55gr pill in the 22" barrell with the same pressure signs I had at 3500fps with AR2208 (Varget).

Probably Gary but only when it becomes old technology. Just my own simple observation from 37ish yrs of reloading.
