I don't know about these little 15 grainers in larger cases but they shoot pretty darn good in the factory ammo for the 17 Hornet and 17 WSM.
Any of the 17 cals based off of the 221 Fireball case and maybe even a 17-222 would probably be like a lazer beam death ray on PD's/ground squirrels and flat blow em up with those 15 grainers. I'm not sure they'd survive the flight, if you tried to run them in anything bigger than a 17-222, although these alloy bullets tend to not blow up as easy as the lead core ones. |

Wonder if the 15.5 they use in the Hornet ammo is the exact same bullet they use in the 17 WSM but they call it a 15gr in the 17 WSM instead of a 15.5, or if they really are two different bullets, but only .5 of a grain different. Hmmmm |

Not the same. I can't seem to find any 17 hornet ammo....I know I have a box of 15.5gr NTX somewhere. In the past, I pulled a 15.5gr NTX Factory loaded .17 hornet and it weighed 15.5gr and is a boattail. Anyway, I just dissected a winchester .17 WSM 15.0gr round..........here are some pics. Winchester powder on the right......... Ramshot Enforcer (pistol powder I use for my 22 MINK) on the left......... Similar, but not the same.........at first glance I thought, I bet they use Ramshot Enforcer(but why would winchester do that?, Im' sure they use a pistol powder of their own). |

Pulling the bullets on 17 WSM ammo is a real pain in the arse and is even more difficult when you're trying not to damage the case. They put the crimp of death on that stuff.
Pulling bullets from a 17 Hornet is wayyyy easier. I'll have to dig some 15.5 ammo out and pull a bullet but I know you are correct becasue the 15.5 is a BT design unlike the 15gr WSM bullet which is obviously a FB. Hey, since you've already pulled that 15gr WSM bullet, what is the length of it? |

Has anyone tried GS Custom bullets. They’re in Africa.
They do .17 & 20 cals. Ken.

Tried them, 17 & 19 gr old style ogive. love them. Quite pricy, but I don't shoot enough to care. Very very speedy in my rifle.
