I've got the itch for a 17-222, if you are thinking of parting with one let me know what you have. Send PM's please.

TIA

Aaron

You need to post such things on the
classifieds, not here.

Default Well since we are all here anyway....

I personally think the 17-222 is a dandy round and love mine (Sako L461) built by PO Ackley.Like others here I always covet the rounds that you can buy Lapua brass for and think that the 17-222 is so close to the 17Rem any self respecting Varmint will never know the difference in the round that shot him.Aaron if it was me I would not hesitate to build one on your favorite donor with a .378 bolt face ,it will be worth the wait. Not sure many, like me would part with their 17-222s.
Good luck with your search,I hear PAC-Nor is about to make some 17buttons soon, get a 9 twist btw
Matt

Thanks for the input Matt, A build would be my next turn if nothing turns up I would be interested in.

When it comes to 17's I think the 17-222 is the Goldilocks of the 17's, not to big, not to small, it's just right!

Thumbs up I posted this pic last month......

It's the 17-222 I built some years ago.

It uses a factory Sako single-shot L461 action, Pac-Nor 27" 3 groove 9" twist barrel, factory Sako PPC-BR stock, Leuy 6.5-20xAO scope..........and now, a Canjar single-set trigger.

Great PD medicine......

edit: And......I've since upgraded the rangefinder to a Leica Vector 21.

Very nice set up Kevin!

I remember in the early 80's when Brownells was selling the A series Sako actions for about $230.... I did buy an A3 IIII at that time and built a 8mm Rem. Mag. I certainly wasn't thinking small calibers in those days!
