There is a crazy guy on glock talk that has done some impressive hot loading of handguns.
They require compensators to run at the insane velocities/pressures he runs. the comps keep the guns locked up longer to delay allow the pressures to drop to safe level before extracting.

He has gotten a 6" barreled 38/45acp improved to 2418 ft/sec with a 90gr xtp. He has even loaded a 65gr 10mm to 2699 ft/sec from a 7" barrel.

Needless to say if done right. some insane velocities can be obtained from a handgun.

I'm getting 2200 ft/sec from my 22 caliber wildcat from a 5" barrel.

It will push a 90gr bullet just shy of 2000fps but so will a 9x25 Dillon. It is advertised as a capable big game round using FK's new math. Pistol rounds punch holes, so a bigger hole is better on bigger game. The biggest advantage of the 7.5 is it comes in a well engineered soft shooting pistol. They compare it to the 357mag and 44mag in killing power. It may exceed the 357mag 125gr loading, but not the 158gr or 180gr hard cast. Better than the 44mag, I would have to see that! Too bad animals don't learn more math. Of course some think the 10mm is as powerful as a 41mag, it is all called creative math.
