I have a CZ 452 American and a Volquartsen autoloader in HM2. I bought the CZ in NOV of 2011 and because I loved the cartridge, I purchased the VQ autoloader in early 2012. My VQ has always run flawlessly. Both are tack drivers.

I just received an order of the new run Hornady and CCI's to see if they shoot the same. Looks like the drought may be ending.

I am glad to see that there are still other Mach2 shooters out there.

I wonder how many that whined about the hoarders are now stocking up with the cheap prices. Probably none.

Hog Patrol, I don't consider $8.99 a box to be "cheap". I was paying 185 per 2000 rounds of Eley up till 2013. That's about $4.65 a box of 50. I saw the Ely jump up to $230 a case ($5.75 a box of 50) and wouldn't buy it because it was too high. What a mistake that was.

I hope the new CCI factory will keep the HM2's fed. I feel much better because I am now able to put a reasonable supply "in house".

Hopefully, the prices will come down as availability increases. I feel that $6 dollars is a reasonable target price. Hope to see it in time.

Not sure if I would call it hoarding, but a person should be prudent and stock up while he can, as the supply just might drain down again and all will be back in the same boat, with no ammo for their weapon. Bill K

Just found a New, no box Savage Mark II BV-SS at my LGS. Paid $250. Putting in a Rifle Basix sear and bought 1,000 rounds of Hornady ammo from Cabela'. and 1,000 rounds of Eley off GB. Always wanted to try this round, so when I saw ammo available, I jumped on it.

On gunbroker.com, I saw a case of 2000 Eley went for $550 shipped, a thousand went for $309. Works out to 13.75 and 15.45 a box.

I almost stopped shooting my HM2's when the price was .30 a round. I still used my HM2's but only on a limited basis. When the 22lr got so expensive, I started shooting cast lead in my .22 hornet instead of the 22lr rimfire because it was MUCH cheaper than 10 cents a round.

Oh well, maybe the HM2 ammo can stay available. I hope so, because this is a good little cartridge.

I have a question. Why does anyone think that this can be $3-4 less a box than an HMR?? The Eley was dumped by them for less than what it cost to make. Its the same bullet as an HMR. The difference in the powder costs is not much. It uses a Stinger case, which is not the std case. The HMR probably out sells it 100-1 so volume is not the answer.

I don't know..... Maybe just because it is smaller and based off the 22 Stinger and not the 22 WMR. The parent cases start with a big price difference.

Good question.

I remember at some point years ago someone buying hmr rounds and pulling the bullet because they couldn't buy the loose bullet for reloading cheaper then loaded 17 hmr rounds.
