[quote=.this gun was made by a smith named Seely Masker and was originally a 222 tight neck and then it was rechambered to a 223.....the gun was originally used as a bench rifle.....then it resided in a gun safe for about 20 years until I became the proud owner...it now has a hart barrel in 204 ruger and sits in a fajen walking varminter stock.....I want to install a safety so I can use it to do a little varmint shooting.......I am going to try and put up a couple of pics...it is a skeletonized trigger thanks again for the info you provided[/QUOTE]
You are lucky to own a Rifle smithed by Seely Masker ! I think Jim Borden was one of his students . Masker was one of the best BenchRest Gun builders around in the early days . |

I am lucky ....I actually have 3 rifles that were made by Seely Masker in fact years ago he was a member in the same gun club that I belong to now.......I have a remington 788action that he chambered with a 308 tight neck,a remington 700action chambered with a 222 tight neck and the sako was originally a222 but was rechambered to a 223AI...the 223 was shot out so I recently had it rebarreled to a 204 ruger

I ordered a trigger from numrich it was listed for L461 vixen and it is perfect .....but it does not fit I need to have a safety that is longer so now I have to start looking again ...apparently sako made triggers with different length safety levers

That's odd..........
Because the "shortest" safety lever would be specifically for the L461.
Have you properly adjusted the "positioning" screw, that is on top of the trigger housing? Some pics, of your trigger, would help. Kevin |
