Default Need a couple 17 Ackley Bee fired brass

I got some 17 Ackley Bee RCBS dies from an auction site over the winter. Today I just bought a 23" T/C 17 HMR to send to SSK to have rechambered to the 17 Ackley Bee they asked if I could send some brass with the barrel but I haven't gotten around to forming any yet since I didn't have a barrel. I would prefer to send some fired brass that I resized with my dies. So if anyone could spare a few for this project I would appreciate it and let me know a cost a I will send payment.

Thanks Mike

Just a heads up , many years ago I had SSK chamber a 17M2 TC barrel to 17 Ackley Bee. What I got back didn't make me any too happy. I could not seat a 20 gr VMax out far enough to touch the lands. A 25 gr VMax would reach but was barely in the neck. Ask a lot of questions.

Default I would look at MGM

I had MGM build me a 6BR Encore barrel that shoots bug holes.
They have a 17Ackley Bee reamer, they are nice folks that do good work.
Would definitely call em and see what they say, sounds like a neat project.

I have contacted MGM and they told me they would not do any work to a factory barrel. I got this 23" barrel at a good price and still think that with the rechamber it would be under budget of a new barrel. I have also purchased a set of 17 squirrel dies so I will be ordering a new barrel from MGM soon. I have been bitten hard by the 17 bug. My have to sell some larger calibers to fund the small stuff. LoL. Currently have a 17mach2 and a 17 Hornady Hornet but I'm one of the oddball's that thinks case forming is fun.

I could send you a couple of fired and sized cases, they were fired in a MGM barrel and sized in RCBS dies.

If I posted them to you I couldn't guarantee you would get them as I will be sending them from New Zealand.

If you want them let me know and I will get them in the mail to you.....Kiwi

Kiwi
Thanks for your offer but it might be more trouble that it's worth. Hopefully someone local will help with this.

Thanks Mike

I have a 17 Ackley Bee and should have some fired brass somewhere.
When it warms up later today, I'll go searching.

Update:
Have two fired cases in hand.
Send me a PM with your mailing address.

John
